Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) is a white or light yellow crystalline to powdery chemical substance with various excellent properties and a wide range of applications.
Appearance and Solubility: CTAB is easily soluble in isopropanol and miscible with water, producing a large amount of foam when dissolved with agitation.
Compatibility: It has good compatibility with anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric surfactants.
Performance Features: CTAB possesses excellent properties such as penetration, softening, emulsification, antistatic, biodegradability, and bactericidal effects. It also has good chemical stability, being heat-resistant, light-resistant, pressure-resistant, and resistant to strong acids and alkalis.
Wide Applications: It is used as an emulsifier for natural and synthetic rubber, silicone oil, and asphalt, an antistatic agent and softener for synthetic fibers, natural fibers, and glass fibers, as well as a conditioning agent in hair conditioners, among other uses.
